Summer Vacation Day 8

On the way home we had time to stop at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. Megan and Spencer had been to the Riverside CA Temple open house about 6 years ago but none since that time. What a great opportunity this was to be able to go as a family!
As usual, the church speared no expense with the interior furnishings. The colors were absolutely beautiful. I loved how each level, starting with the baptistery in the basement became lighter as you ascended upward. By the time you got to the celestial room on the fourth floor, all the trim work and mouldings were white and the upholstery and flooring were done in light earth tone colors. When you started in the basement the wood was stained dark and the upholstery and fishes were darker earth tones. The entire building is a very peaceful place. As it should be!
This picture is a little deceiving. It makes the building look whiter than it really is. It's quite tan when you get up close, so I'm happy to see that the pictures look more white.
As a side note, this temple was designed by Ter's architecture firm in SLC.

Together forever!

Grandma and Grandpa White have been putting a very nice addition on their property. You can kind of see the new construction to the left of the big tree. It's a new two car garage and a bonus room. It will be quite fun when it's complete.
In the meantime, a tree had to come down. A new driveway will be going in and the tree was in the way. Grandpa White stayed at his office, he was a little attached to this nice big tree. Hopefully after he sees the picture of the inside rotted out he won't feel so bad. Better to take it out now than have it land on your house and do some real damage.

No more tree! Now you have a better view of the old garage, now new bonus room and the new two car garage behind that.
